On Sunday, June 29, 2008, the faithful of Ss. Peter & Paul celebrated their patronal feast. VRev. David Koles celebrated the Divine Services with VRev. James Parsells, Rector of the Parish, while friends and visitors from various places were in attendance. Following the Divine Liturgy and procession around the church, a festal luncheon was offered. Many thanks to all who helped make the day such a special one!

Saint Nicholas Cathedral will be the site of a town meeting in preparation for the 15th All-American Council to be held in Pittsburgh November 2008. The Town Meeting will be held on June 28th from 1 PM to 3 PM. His Beatitude, Metropolitan HERMAN and Fr. Alexander Garklavs, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America will be in attendance. All are welcome to attend!

Our own Honey Zimmerman and her sister, Mickey Arangelovic, have been inducted into the Tamburitza Association of America Hall of Fame for their lifetime commitment to the preservation and growth of tambura music in America. Honey has her own tambura orchestra, Sarena, which provided entertainment at the recent IOCC banquet; you can find out more about Sarena here. Congratulations to Honey & Mickey on their recognition and for their love and dedication to their musical heritage!

Sandra Zimmerman was received into the fulness of the Faith this evening before Bridegroom Matins. Julie Hall served as her sponsor, and her family was on hand to witness her Chrismation. (Sandy was the last of our recent group of Catechumens to be received. Alas, the rank of Catechumens at St Innocent's is depleted! Pray for more people to find their way to Christ and His Church.) Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday, our children "with the palms of victory" process with the clergy at the Great Entrance, and the weather allowed us to process outside at the end of the Divine Liturgy. It was a beautiful beginning to the Holy Weeks observances at St Innocent's.

A former parishioner William (Basil) Davidovich of Dallas, Texas fell-asleep in the Lord on April 14th. The funeral for William will be held on Friday, April 18th at 9:30a.m. in our church with burial at Rova Farm. A viewing will be held at Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville on Thursday , April 17th from 5-8p.m., with a Panikheda at 4:00p.m. May his mermory be eternal!

This week the children made cards for our troops overseas and decorated them with stamps and crayons.

This Sunday the children painted small flower pots and wooden flowers to go in them. These will be taken to a local nursing home and given to the residents. There was a lot of fun with the paint, perhaps too much fun in some cases...

Dan & Catrina Kovalak, along with Melissa Tesar, visited St Innocent's from Archangel Michael Church today to talk about St Vladimir's Church Camp. They talked about improvements to the camp and answered questions from parents. Information about the two summer camp sessions will be available at the church (and here on the website, of course) as it becomes available. Our own Natalie D'Fantis will be a counsellor at the camp this summer and also has information.
